Instruments

I haven’t developed standard models, because most instruments are custom order, so there are no standard prices for Hamlett instruments.
Here is a guideline to give an idea of ballpark prices:

F-style mandolin
I start with a price of $6400. That would be curly maple and spruce, ebony radiused fingerboard with 22 frets, ebony headstock overlays, simple inlay, sunburst coloring, ivoroid binding with black side stripe on body, fingerboard and peg head, high gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish, gold plated hardware, pearl tuner buttons, and a Calton deluxe case.

A-style mandolin
I start with $3200 for one with the same appointments as outlined above.

Some things that raise the price are:
Varnish finish ($1000), blonde color, fancy custom inlay, full fingerboard extender with 29 frets, pick guard, and any custom work that takes extra time, including design time.

Some things that lower the price are:
Single color dark stain, single color plastic binding, unbound fingerboard and peghead, plastic tuner buttons, less expensive or customer supplied case.

Contact me with your interests and I’ll calculate a price accordingly.

Guitars
I don’t even have a guideline, but prices usually compare favorably with those of the better manufactured instruments of similar design.

Banjos
Same as guitars. I usually only build banjos and guitars when they are ordered, so pricing can vary widely.

Tailpieces
Hamlett mandolin tailpieces are available with with gold or rhodium plating for $98.00. If you have nickel or chrome plated tuners, or if you are replacing a nickel or chrome tailpiece, order rhodium plating to match. Prices include shipping in the lower 48 United States.
