This banjo was ordered and given as a 50th birthday gift to the husband of the woman who placed the order. (Lucky guy!) The pot is traditional Mastertone type construction, with a Huber tone ring. The wood is Black Walnut, and the binding is curly maple.

The headstock shape was suggested by the customer, and designed by me. The headstock inlay is a representation of the Blue Ridge mountains with fog in the Rockfish valley under the moonlight.

The fingerboard inlays were chosen by the wife, and represent things related to or of interest to the owner of the instrument. They have Dogwood trees in their yard, and on their property. They often have Skinks (the lizard-type critters) on the porch and walkways, the hops and barley relate to the owners fondness for quality beers.
