It’s been called ingenious. It’s been called a work of art. John Monteleone called it “the string organizer”.

I wanted my mandolin tailpiece to be one piece, (no pesky cover to get lost or rattle) simple in design and function, light weight, attractive, easy for string changes, comfortable for those players who contact the tailpiece when they play, (no string windings or sharp edges at the surface) and interchangeable with other tailpieces with “standard” screw hole and end pin positions. Mandolins are curvy, and despite years of tradition, I don’t think square, blocky tailpieces fit with mandolin designs. I tried to get the simple curves of the tailpiece to complement most mandolin shapes, but not compete with the instrument by being too fancy.
